Colonial America in the Movies
Since the silent era and the first retelling of Last of the Mohicans, which featured Boris Karloff years before he would portray Frankenstein's Monster, Hollywood has traveled back in time to the 18th century. Some Colonial-era films work better than others at stirring our imaginations, but all are interesting productions for one reason or another. We invite you to use the links below for a visit to past productions about early U.S. history.
When the Redskins Rode (1951)
Williamsburg: the Story of a Patriot (1957)
Stay tuned for more of these retrospectives, and please send along suggestions about movies you'd like to see reviewed.
